Rotageek & Catapult partner to help retailers meet demand with a shared workforce

by Rotageek on 13 January 2020

LONDON, UK, 13th January 2020 - Rotageek are delighted to announce that we have joined forces with shared workforce platform, Catapult!

Our partnership with Catapult will help shift-managers at retail organisations to easily access a pool of high-quality vetted talent, enabling them to better match labour to demand, while Catapult takes care of all payroll and admin.

As managers build out their schedule with Rotageek, with this integration they will also be able to broadcast unfilled shifts to Catapult's shared workforce with a click of a button. Managers will then be able to select the right person to fill the shift, and have the right team to deliver exceptional customer service.

This is exciting for two reasons:

1. Daily and seasonal hiring made easy
Flexible workforces are instrumental to supporting shift-managers with their daily and seasonal peaks, but the process of hiring and scheduling flexible layers of staff is often complicated. From identifying the right shifts to outsource, through to paying for these shifts correctly and managing budgets and spend, the logistics are difficult. Our partnership and product-integration will solve this problem.

2. A huge opportunity with gig-economy employment
People want greater control over when, where, and how much they work. With the right technology tools, the talent pool of people able to pick up ad-hoc shifts increases, alleviating hiring and retention pressures that businesses face, all whilst empowering those people who want genuine flexible employment on their own terms.

Together, we’re going to help businesses plug into an external shared workforce engine, whilst working seamlessly with their business operations and brand values. We are currently working on the integration and we expect it to be in place later in 2020.

Our CEO, Chris McCullough, said: “We’re genuinely excited about this partnership - there’s a real problem to solve for businesses that sometimes hire external staff, but there’s also a lot of opportunity in exploring new employment models. Working with Catapult will enable us to solve so many challenges, and improve so many processes too - for businesses and for people. I can’t wait to see what we can achieve!”

Oli Johnson, Co-Founder at Catapult, said: “60% of retail managers say that employees quit because of scheduling issues. Having a partner like Rotageek, who recognises that the right business tools can address this, as well as boost staff engagement and save employers time and money, is invaluable. By introducing their customers to our shared workforce, we can provide more companies with a seamless method for achieving flexibility at work and all the benefits that come with it.”
